The rules of working together
These terms govern your use of the Steeltown AI website and products. By using our site, booking a call, or becoming a paying client, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Use the site fairly. Pay what you owe on time. Cancel anytime with no long-term contract. If something doesn't work, email us at hello@steeltownai.com. We operate under the laws of Ontario, Canada.
1. About these terms
These terms form a binding agreement between you and Steeltown AI, a Canadian business based in Hamilton, Ontario. For clients on a paid subscription, these terms work together with any signed client agreement, service-level agreement, or order form you enter into with us. If there is any conflict, the signed agreement takes priority.
2. Our products
Steeltown AI offers three products:
- SteelDesk AI — a 24/7 AI frontdesk that answers voice calls, replies to SMS, and books appointments.
- SteelSite AI — an AI-maintained business website that updates itself as your business evolves.
- Full Stack Bundle — SteelDesk AI and SteelSite AI together at a discounted combined rate.
Product features, pricing, and availability are described on our website and may change. We'll give reasonable notice before materially changing pricing or features for active clients.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to enter into agreements on behalf of your business to purchase any Steeltown AI product. Our products are intended for business use, not personal use.
4. Becoming a client
To become a paying client, you book a setup call, we confirm fit, and you sign a client agreement that includes these terms and any service-specific details (setup timeline, integration points, contact handoff). Once the agreement is signed and setup fee is paid, we begin setup.
5. Pricing and payment
All pricing is in Canadian dollars (CAD) and subject to applicable taxes.
- Monthly subscription is billed on a recurring basis, starting on the day your product goes live.
- Setup fee is a one-time charge for configuring your account, integrating your systems, training the agent on your business, and deploying to a dedicated environment. The setup fee is paid before setup begins.
- Payment methods: we process payments through secure third-party payment systems. You are responsible for keeping your payment information current.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, we'll notify you and give a reasonable window to correct it before suspending service.
- Late payments may be subject to interest at the rate permitted by Ontario law.
6. Cancellation and refunds
We don't believe in long-term contracts. You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time, with service running through the end of your current billing period.
- Monthly subscription refunds: if SteelDesk AI does not pay for itself within the first 30 days through captured leads, booked appointments, or hours saved, email us and we'll refund your first monthly subscription payment. This is our 30-day ROI guarantee.
- Setup fee is non-refundable. The setup work happens before you go live and cannot be recovered once done.
- Cancellation effective date: the end of your current paid period. No partial-month refunds.
7. Your obligations
When using our site or products, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information during demos, calls, and setup
- Use the products only for lawful business purposes
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, scrape, or resell our products or underlying technology
- Not use the products to send spam, defraud, harass, or impersonate anyone
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Not transfer your subscription to another business without our written consent
- Obtain any consents required from your own customers before routing their data through our products (for example, call recording consent in your jurisdiction)
8. Acceptable use
You may not use Steeltown AI or any of our products to:
- Break any law, regulation, or third-party right
- Process data you don't have the right to process
- Generate or distribute content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or harmful to minors
- Circumvent any technical limits, rate limits, or security measures
- Probe, attack, or disrupt our website, products, or supporting services
- Train a competing AI product on outputs generated by ours
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate service for any violation, with or without notice depending on severity.
9. Our obligations
When you're an active paying client, we agree to:
- Deliver the product described in your signed agreement, with commercially reasonable uptime
- Respond to support requests within 1 business day for standard issues, faster for critical outages
- Notify you of any material changes to pricing, features, or service with reasonable advance notice
- Handle your data consistent with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law
- Tell you honestly when something is outside our scope instead of pretending to solve it
10. Intellectual property
Our IP: the Steeltown AI name, branding, website, product architecture, training methods, prompts, model configurations, and underlying technology are owned by Steeltown AI. You receive a limited right to use the product under your subscription, but no ownership or licence to our intellectual property beyond what's needed to use the service.
Your content: any business information you give us (brand voice, hours, services, FAQs, contact details) stays yours. By giving it to us, you grant us the right to use it only to configure and operate your Steeltown AI product.
Outputs: the conversations, bookings, messages, and other outputs generated by the product in the course of serving your customers are yours to use for your business.
11. Service availability and updates
We aim for high uptime but can't guarantee 100%. From time to time we perform maintenance, upgrades, or deploy updates, and some features may change, improve, or be removed. We won't remove a major feature you're actively relying on without reasonable notice and a comparable replacement where possible.
12. Third-party services
Our products integrate with third-party systems such as phone carriers, calendars, payment processors, and messaging platforms. These are operated by their respective providers, under their own terms and conditions. We are not responsible for outages, changes, or limitations imposed by those third-party providers, but we'll work with you in good faith to keep things running.
13. Disclaimers
Our products are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Beyond what's explicitly stated in these terms or your signed agreement, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no other warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
AI-generated content: our products use AI to handle calls, messages, and interactions. AI output can occasionally be wrong, incomplete, or unexpected. We work hard to configure and test agents carefully, but you remain responsible for reviewing critical outputs (appointment bookings, customer communications, financial or medical information) before acting on them.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Steeltown AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, or data, arising out of your use of our website or products.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or your use of our products will not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Steeltown AI, its owner, and its representatives against any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party that arises out of:
- Your misuse of our products or violation of these terms
- Your content or the data you route through our products
- Your violation of any law, regulation, or third-party right
16. Termination
Either party can terminate the relationship as described in section 6 (cancellation). We may also suspend or terminate your access immediately if:
- You materially breach these terms and don't fix it within 10 days of notice
- Your payments fail and aren't resolved within a reasonable window
- You use our products in a way that creates legal risk for us or our other clients
On termination: your access to the product ends, outstanding payments remain due, and we'll make a reasonable effort to provide you with an export of your data for a limited period afterward.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Before starting any formal dispute, you agree to contact us first at hello@steeltownai.com and give us a reasonable chance to resolve the issue directly.
If that doesn't resolve it, the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes affecting existing clients, we'll notify you by email and give you a reasonable window to review before the changes take effect.
Continuing to use our website or products after a change means you accept the updated terms.
19. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement: these terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any signed client agreement, are the complete agreement between us.
- No waiver: if we don't enforce a right in one situation, we haven't waived our right to enforce it later.
- Severability: if any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- Assignment: you can't transfer your subscription or rights under these terms to someone else without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor business.
- Notices: we'll send notices to the email address you've given us. You can send notices to us at hello@steeltownai.com.
