This page explains how Steeltown AI collects and handles personal information. We operate under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Who we are

Steeltown AI is a Canadian business based in Hamilton, Ontario. We build AI products for small and medium businesses. For any privacy question, contact hello@steeltownai.com.

2. What we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Contact details: name, email, phone number, business name
• Business context: your website, industry, role, and what you're trying to solve
• Messages: anything you write to us or say during a demo or call
• Payment information: billing details if you become a paying client, processed through secure third-party payment systems

We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as your IP address and basic browser information, as part of standard website operation. We do not run any third-party analytics platform.

3. How we use it

Your information is used only for the following:

• Delivering the service or information you asked for
• Communicating with you about demos, setup, support, and billing
• Improving our products based on aggregated usage patterns
• Meeting our legal, accounting, and tax obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your data to train public AI models.

4. Service providers

To operate Steeltown AI, we rely on established third-party providers for hosting, payment processing, scheduling, and email. These providers process your data only on our behalf, under their own privacy and security obligations, and only to deliver our service to you.

Some providers are located in the United States, which means some of your data is stored and processed there. By using our site and services, you consent to this transfer.

Active paying clients receive a full list of our service providers as part of their signed client agreement.

5. How long we keep it

We retain personal information only as long as needed:

• Inquiry and demo information: retained for a reasonable period to follow up, then deleted on request.
• Client records: retained for the duration of the service relationship, plus the period required for tax and accounting compliance.
• Email correspondence: retained as long as the business relationship is active, unless you request deletion.

6. Your rights under PIPEDA

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@steeltownai.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We verify your identity before releasing any data, and respond within 30 days.

7. How we protect your data

The Steeltown AI website runs on HTTPS. We work only with service providers that meet industry-standard security practices. In the event of a data breach that affects you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.

8. Children's data

Steeltown AI is a business-to-business service and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

9. Cookies

We use minimal cookies:

• Basic session cookies for site operation, which expire when you close your browser.
• A 30-day referral cookie if you arrive via a Steeltown AI partner or creator, used only to credit the referring partner. It contains no personal information about you.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes affecting how we handle your data, we notify existing clients by email.
